Is there a need for a visa when entering the Philippines?
For the following countries, their nationals are allowed to enter and stay visa free in the Philippines for 21 days:
- Australia
- Germany
- Indonesia
- Israel
- Japan
- Malaysia
- New Zealand
- Singapore
- Thailand
- Turkey
- United States of America
- Vietnam
For the following countries, including administrative regions, a temporary visitors visa is required:
- Armenia +
- Azerbaijan — can be acquired from the Philippine embassy anywhere in the world
- Bangladesh +
- China (Mainland) — can be acquired from the Philippine embassy anywhere in the world
- Georgia — can be acquired from the Philippine embassy anywhere in the world
- Hong Kong — can be acquired from the Philippine embassy anywhere in the world
- India — can be acquired from the Philippine embassy in India only
- Jordan — can be acquired from the Philippine embassy in Jordan only
- South Korea — can be acquired from the Philippine embassy anywhere in the world
- Taiwan — can be acquired from the Philippine embassy anywhere in the world

If visa is required, what are the minimum requirements for applying for such temporary visitor's visa?
The minimum requirements for the application of a temporary visitor's visa are:
- Passport / travel document valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay in the Philippines.
- Duly accomplished visa application forms;
- passport photos 2 pieces;
- proof of bona fide status as tourist or businessman;
- confirmed tickets for return or onward journey to the next port of destination; and
- payment of visa fees
If visa is required, is an invitation letter needed to be attached to your visa application?
It is not part of the minimum requirements, but if you need an invitation letter to attach to your visa application either as an additional requirement or as a contingency, you may email mymails AT marsdecastro DOT com, with subject header "Visa Assistance - Invitation Letter" for assistance.

How come the Philippine Department of Foreign Affairs website lists 147 countries/regions/territories as being free from visa requirements for 21 days?
We verified the list with the Philippine DFA, and we were referred to the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID) for the current status of the list for visa requirements, the some of the results of which are those available in the first question above.
